ABOUT MR GILBERT
Mr Rob Gilbert is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in sports knee injuries and soft tissue/reconstructive knee surgery.
Rob is the knee surgeon to the top Super League rugby clubs in addition to professional rugby union, football and motocross athletes.
Mr Gilbert helps both professional and amateur athletes to return to fitness by both surgical and non-surgical treatments. However, many soft tissue knee problems affect non-sportsmen and all patients receive the same high level of care.
Mr Gilbert is committed to teaching and training and is the programme director for the Wrightington Sports Knee Fellowship. This enables orthopaedic surgeons to gain specialist training in sports knee surgery prior to them taking up a consultant post.
Owing to his specialist practice in sports injury, Mr Gilbert does not perform joint replacement surgery.
